Two brothers from Mississauga are facing 55 charges after 13 vehicles believed to be valued at more than $800,000 were allegedly recovered from an organized auto crime group.

Peel Regional Police launched an investigation into multiple stolen vehicles last October.

The probe culminated this month, they say, after search warrants were executed at two Mississauga residences.

As a result, Sulman Dar, 28, and Shahroz Dar, 24, both of Mississauga, were arrested.

Sulman Dar has been charged with 23 counts of fail to comply with release order and 24 counts of possession of property obtained by crime, while Shahroz Dar is facing one count of fail to comply with release order, three counts of theft of motor vehicle, and four counts possession of property obtained by crime.

The accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

“At the time of their arrests, they were both bound by court-imposed release orders in relation to failing to comply with release order, robbery, and property related offences,” police said in a news release.

Peel Regional Police say they have been working to “actively disrupt criminal activity related to auto theft.”

Those efforts, investigators say, have contributed to a nearly 15 per cent decrease in stolen vehicles so far in 2026 compared to the same period last year.

“Auto theft remains a priority for Peel Regional Police. We have been leading the charge in reducing auto theft across our region, and this investigation is another example of the continued efforts of our officers,” Deputy Chief Marc Andrews, of Peel Regional Police, said in a release.

“Organized crime groups that target our communities for profit will be identified, disrupted, and dismantled. We will continue to hold those responsible fully accountable for their criminal actions.”

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with further information is asked to the 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453-2121, ext. 1133, or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
