If Jannik Sinner triumphs at the BNP Paribas Open this week, the Italian will not only leave Indian Wells with the trophy, but he will also claim a slice of history.

The No. 2 player in the PIF ATP Rankings in the ATP Tour has already captured five of the six hard-court ATP Masters 1000 titles. The only one missing from his collection is Indian Wells, where his best results are semi-final runs in 2023 and 2024. This year, however, Sinner looks well placed to go one step further. The Italian has not dropped a set on his way to the quarter-finals and is moving closer to completing the set.

Should he lift the trophy, Sinner would join Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer as the only men to win all six hard-court Masters 1000 events.

Sinner captured his first Masters 1000 title in Canada in 2023 and then triumphed in Miami, Cincinnati and Shanghai in 2024. Last season he lifted the trophy in Paris. Sinner will next face Learner Tien in the quarter-finals in California.
