March 12 weather: Flurries and gusts up to 60 km/h in southern Ontario

Thursday could bring flurries and wind gusts up to 60 km/h to parts of the Greater Toronto Area and southern Ontario.

Environment Canada says the day will start off cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of flurries in the morning and afternoon in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa and the Niagara Falls area.

Northwest winds could blow at around 30 km/h with gusts up to 60 km/h in Toronto and 50 km/h in Mississauga. The high will be around 2 C in Mississauga, but could feel more like -9 C due to the wind chill.

Thursday night should see skies clear across the GTA with wind gusts up to 40 km/h possible. The low will be around -6 C in Mississauga, but could feel more like -10 C overnight due to the windchill.

Looking ahead to Friday, the forecast in Mississauga calls for periods of snow or rain, windy conditions and a high of 1 C. The evening could bring more flurries and a low of -6 C.
