A brave group of about three dozen Special Olympians and first responders plunged into the waters of the Pacific Ocean off Blackie Spit Park at Crescent Beach on Saturday (March 7) for Special Olympics BC.

2. South Surrey school nets stellar basketball season

“The team was very competitive and were amongst the top teams in the province all season.”

3. 1 man charged after Feb. 6 alleged assault in Surrey’s Cedar Hills area

Surrey Police Service said charges have been approved following an investigation into the alleged assault of a young female on Feb. 6, in the area of 99 Avenue and 123 Street.

4. Surrey council OKs more than $12.8M in public works contracts

The scope of work consists of repaving 9.9 lane-kilometres of arterial and 7.7 lane-kilometres of collector roads, including three locations in South Surrey.

5. Surrey council approves 2.6% property tax hike

“That 2.6 per cent will generate $14.36 million in new revenue for the city, a net increase to other across-the-board corporate revenues of $8.61 million.”
