One man has been charged with fraud after a vehicle owner north of Brampton had their ride taken and resold.
The vehicle was stolen from the area of King Street and Airport Road in Caledon back in June, the OPP says.
Police say the owner told officers someone “fraudulently obtained ownership” of the vehicle and listed it for sale.
An investigation found the vehicle was taken and sold without the registered owner’s consent, leading to the arrest of a 27-year-old suspect from Caledon. Investigators didn’t say what make or model the vehicle was.
The OPP says Abhishek Shukhand, 27, of Caledon, has been charged with fraud over $5,000, make forged document, theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle and trafficking in property obtained by crime.
The accused was held for a bail hearing to answer to the charges, police say.
