More wintry weather is on the way Sunday as snow, ice pellets and freezing rain move through parts of southern Ontario.

Early risers hoping to enjoy their favourite warm beverage while watching a beautiful sky may be out of luck, as the 7:28 a.m. sunrise will likely be covered by thick clouds.

Mississauga, Brampton, Halton, Hamilton and Durham will see snow mixed with ice pellets, which will end in the afternoon as skies turn cloudy.

Snow and ice pellet accumulations will reach 2 to 4 cm in Mississauga, Brampton, Halton and Hamilton, while Durham may see around 2 cm.

There is a risk of freezing rain late in the morning and early afternoon across the region.

Morning wind chills will hover near -9 C across Mississauga, Brampton, Halton and Durham, while Hamilton will feel closer to -10 C.

Later in the day, temperatures will climb to 7 C in Mississauga, Brampton, Halton and Durham, while Hamilton will reach 10 C.

Wind speeds will increase to 60 km/h in Mississauga, Brampton, Halton and Durham, while in Hamilton, it will reach 40 km/h.

Sunset begins at 7:22 p.m.

By evening, Mississauga, Brampton, Halton, and Durham will remain overcast as winds continue to gust up to 60 km/h. Temperatures will briefly rise to 10 C in the evening before slipping again, with overnight lows settling near 7 C.

In Hamilton, it will become partly cloudy. Winds will ease to 20 km/h while temperatures are expected to fall to 8 C.
