Ottawa Police has laid multiple charges against a youth after quantities of a suspected Schedule I substance were seized in a drug investigation.
The arrest occurred on Mar. 11 in the Station Boulevard area following an earlier incident where the individual fled from police during a traffic stop.
Officers identified the driver and said there were grounds for arrest.
During a search incident to arrest, officers seized a suspected Schedule I substance with possession for the purpose of trafficking as well as Canadian currency.
The youth has now been charged with the following:
Four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking;
Four counts of failure to comply with a probation order; and
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The investigation is ongoing. Officers say no further information will be released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
