The Raptors halted a two-game slide with a rare win over an opponent with a winning record on Friday night, opening their current two-game home stand with a 122-115 win over the Phoenix Suns to remain deadlocked with Miami in the battle for sixth place, one game back of Orlando. The Pistons open a three-game road trip on Sunday riding a three-game win streak after rolling to a 126-110 victory over Memphis on Friday, but have fallen to defeat in three of their past four road games.
The Raptors trail as 3.5-point home underdogs on Sunday’s NBA odds, and are pegged as a +145 bet on the NBA moneyline. The total for Sunday’s contest is set at 223.5.
Pistons vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds
The Pistons extended their recent dominance over the Raptors with a decisive 113-95 home win in their first head-to-head date of the season on February 11. Overall, the Pistons have taken seven straight from the Raptors since November 2023 including a trio of wins in Toronto, two by double-digit margins. With the Raptors scoring over 105 points just once in their past six dates with Detroit, the UNDER has gone 5-1 in totals betting over that stretch. Those scoring woes extend to the Raptors; current 3-6 SU run, with the club averaging just 111.6 points per game over that stretch. Despite the raptors recent woes, the club remains a short -625 bet on the NBA futures to make the NBA playoffs. The Pistons have been dominant during their current 3-0 SU run, averaging 131.7 points per game while claiming victory by an average margin of 25.3 points. However, things have not gone as well on the road, where the club has topped 110 points just once during a 1-3 run.
Detroit Pistons
Jalen Duren busted out in Friday’s win over the Grizzlies after enjoying light duty in the club’s 131-109 rout of Philadelphia the night before. Duren exploded for 30 points and 13 rebounds to record a second straight double-double and his ninth in 12 outings since the NBA All-Satar Break. However, it has been a tougher week for the club’s leading scorer Cade Cunningham, who followed up a disappointing eight-point performance versus the 76ers with just 17 points versus Memphis. However, Cunningham’s playmaking has but unaffected, with the former first overall pick in the NBA Draft averaging 13.3 assists over his past four games and tallying 10+ helpers in 10 of 12 appearances since the break. The Pistons could get a boost from the return of guard Ausar Thompson on Sunday afternoon. Thompson has missed five games with an ankle sprain but averaged 11.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, and five assists in the seven appearances before getting hurt.
Toronto Raptors
Brandon Ingram busted out of a mini slump in a big way on Friday night, racking up a game-high 36 points to power the club to a much-needed win over the Suns after averaging just 14 points over his previous four outings. RJ Barrett extended his recent steady run with 22 points on Friday. The Toronto native looms to have put his recent injury woes behind him while scoring 20+ points in seven of his past nine games, and has picked up 6+ rebounds in five straight outings. However, big man Jakob Poeltl still has work to do to regain his form, tallying an average of just seven points and 5.5 boards per game in two appearances earlier in the week.
