THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over conduct of a homicide investigation in Surrey after a shooting in the 13900-block of Laurel Drive in Surrey.
At approximately 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, March 15, Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers responded to reports of shots fired in a residence in the 13900-block of Laurel Drive. Members located a man apparently suffering from gunshot wounds. SPS members immediately rendered aid to the injured man. BCEHS attended, and the man was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.
A man was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody.
IHIT has now taken over the investigation and is working in partnership with SPS to complete priority investigative tasks.
