The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced its new 2025–2026 Academy Foundation Board members and officers, with notable appointments from the animation and visual effects worlds.
Marlon West
Among the newly elected officers is Annie-winning animator and vfx supervisor Marlon West, who previously served as a governor of the Academy’s short films and animation branch. He will take over as secretary.
A veteran effects animator and head of effects at Walt Disney Animation Studios, West’s credits include blockbuster features such as The Princess and the Frog, Moana, and Frozen II.
Brooke Breton
Also elected was Brooke Breton, representing the Visual Effects Branch, who will take on the role of vice president. Breton has a long history in visual effects, with producing credits at major studios including Digital Domain and DreamWorks. Her extensive filmography includes Avatar, The Road to El Dorado, and Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.
Isis Mussenden
Joining them on the board is Isis Mussenden, Costume Designers Branch, as vice president. While primarily a live-action costume designer, her work can be seen across the Shrek franchise.
The Academy Foundation is responsible for all of the Academy’s educational, archival, and cultural programs, including the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and the Academy Film Archive.
Academy Foundation Board members serve one-year terms. As part of their duties, West and Breton will also support the Foundation’s educational and preservation initiatives.
