Kirby Dach‘s night came to a very early end on Sunday.

The Montreal Canadiens forward won’t return against the Anaheim Ducks due to an upper-body injury, the team announced.

Dach was injured following a high hit from Jeffrey Viel just over three minutes into the contest.

The 25-year-old was visibly shaken and remained down on the ice for a few moments before heading to the locker room.

Dach is in his fourth season with the Canadiens and has already been limited to just 31 games this year due to a fractured foot.

Dach has eight goals and six assists in his limited appearances.
