Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl left Sunday’s game against the Nashville Predators with an apparent injury.
Draisaitl, 30, appeared to be shaken up following a collision with Predators second-year forward Ozzy Wiesblatt during the opening frame.
Wiesblatt caught the Oilers star at an awkward angle just in front of Nashville’s bench, with Draisaitl skating away gingerly following the hit.
Draisaitl would head down the tunnel the locker room and returned for one shift before the end of the period, but did not come back out with the team for the start of the second.
The Cologne, Germany native scored the opening marker on the power play just over three minutes into the game before departing.
In 65 games played this season, the 2019-20 Hart Trophy winner has recorded 35 goals and 62 assists for 97 points, good for second on the Oilers behind Connor McDavid’s total of 113.
