Ottawa Senators defenceman Nick Jensen will be undergoing knee surgery for a torn meniscus and is expected to be out at least six weeks, according to Post Media’s Bruce Garrioch.

Jensen has not played since Wednesday, after which he was listed out day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
The 35-year-old has four goals, 13 assists and 65 blocked shots over 61 games in his second season with the Senators.
In his first year in Ottawa, Jensen posted three goals and 21 points while averaging 20:13 time on ice across 71 games.
Jensen was acquired by Ottawa in July 2024 from the Washington Capitals.
In more positive news for the Senators’ d-core, Jake Sanderson is expected to return to the ice next week, according to Garrioch.

The former fifth overall pick has been out since Mar. 7 with an upper-body injury and was ruled week-to-week.
Sanderson has 11 goals and 37 assists in 62 games with Ottawa on this season, while posting 36 goals and 175 points across 298 games in his four seasons in Ottawa.
