Regional promotion Empire Championship Series: Reign of Champions went down this past weekend (Sat., March 14, 2026) inside the NMSU Pan American Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico — and it delivered one of the craziest finishes you’ll see all year … or ever.
Bantamweight prospect Gabriel Peinado took on Santiago Gonzales for the vacant ECS Bantamweight title, but the fight didn’t last long — just 49 seconds.
From his back in guard, Peinado uncorked a perfectly timed, simultaneous double-fisted strike to Gonzales’ temple, instantly knocking him unconscious. Peinado flipped him over and landed four follow-up shots before the referee could step in and wave it off.
Yeah … you don’t see that every day.
Check out the wild knockout below:
With the win, Peinado improves to 5-2 as an amateur — and with a highlight like that, it’s safe to say a move to the professional ranks could be coming sooner rather than later.
The 18-year-old Texas native is now riding a three-fight winning streak, with all of his victories coming by way of finish. His most recent loss came on UFC Fight Pass when he dropped a bout to Felix Cano under Anthony Pettis’ promotion.
