David Beckham visited and shared his feelings on social media about one of his favourite places, and it happens to be a city right here in B.C.
We’ve done stories about Beckham’s visits to this scenic B.C. city before, including a visit from almost exactly one year ago, but he sounded even more passionate about it than usual this time.
Beckham was in Fernie, specifically at Island Lake Lodge, which is close to the B.C.-Alberta border and a bit over an 11-hour drive from this province.
“Every year I try to take four days in the mountains in Fernie, British Columbia, one of my favourite places to be,” his Instagram caption reads.
He also shouted out Island Lake Lodge for making his visit special.
“I promise I’m not going as slow as my video looks,” he added.
His post, which was shared 14 hours ago as of this publication, had already amassed over 200,000 likes and over 1,000 comments, including a “❤️❤️” from his wife, Victoria Beckham.
In response to Victoria’s comment, someone quipped, “Canada spice.”
The Instagram account @explorecanada said, “How lucky we are to see you every year!”
Other followers extended a “welcome back” to British Columbia to Beckham.
