BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – Jamal Hutchison of North Carolina Central was named an NEC Prime Performer in men’s golf on Wednesday, March 18.
Hutchison was one of four golfers to receive the weekly honor. It his second NEC accolade of the 2025-26 season after winning Men’s Co-Golfer of the Month in October 2025. This week’s NEC golf awards included results between March 4 and March 18.
A junior from Fletcher, N.C., Hutchison averaged an even par 71 at the Surf Club Invitational on March 9-10, 2026. He carded a three-round score of 213 – including a two-under 69 in the second round – to tie for 39th out of 107 competitors.
His adjusted score average is 73.8 this season. Fletcher and his NCCU teammates are back on the links March 23-24 at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va.
