Canadian receiver Nate DeMontagnac tested at the University of North Dakota pro day on Wednesday looking to boost his stock ahead of the 2026 CFL Draft.

The six-foot-two, 188-pound target ran a 4.56-second forty-yard dash, 6.91-second three-cone drill, and 4.22-second shuttle. He also repped 225 pounds on the bench press 10 times, leapt a 33.5-inch vertical jump, and a ten-foot, two-inch broad jump.

DeMontagnac’s forty-yard dash and three-cone drill would have ranked fourth-best among receivers at the 2025 CFL Combine. His vertical jump and broad jump and would have placed slightly above average, while his shuttle and bench press would have been in the middle of the pack.

The native of Mississauga, Ont. is set to attend next week’s CFL Combine.

“That’ll be another great opportunity to improve my draft stock,” DeMontagnac told the Grand Forks Herald. “I want to be the first receiver taken in that draft, so I’m coming out here and working and going to the Combine next week and showing them what I can do with hopes of trying to be the No. 1 receiver drafted.”

The same newspaper reported that NFL scouts from the Minnesota Vikings, Houston Texans, San Francisco 49ers, and Detroit Lions attended North Dakota’s pro day. Sources told 3DownNation that no CFL scouts were in attendance.

DeMontagnac caught 64 passes for 775 yards and four touchdowns over 40 collegiate games with the Fighting Hawks. His best season was 2025, when he made 38 receptions for 462 yards and two scores.

North Dakota alumni currently in the CFL include star running back Brady Oliveira, Montreal Alouettes offensive lineman Donny Ventrelli, All-CFL defensive back Evan Holm, and versatile Quincy Vaughn, who scored six touchdowns with the Calgary Stampeders in a hybrid quarterback-tight end role as a rookie last season.

The 2026 CFL Draft is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
