If you regularly commute in Toronto, you know that the distance between Museum and Bay stations is pretty much a breeze at under 600 metres. The only annoyance is having to transfer lines at St. George.

But given how cold and snowy it’s been these past few months, we can’t really blame anyone for skipping the walk and sticking to the subway (despite having to take two separate lines).

So which is actually faster?

In another head-to-head race with the TTC, blogTO tested the time difference between walking and taking the subway from Museum Station to Eataly in Yorkville.

The race pitted walking at a brisk 7.5 km/h pace against the TTC subway during Thursday rush hour, navigating packed trains and crowded stations.

As long as you’re able to make the 10-minute walk during peak periods, that seems to be the fastest way to go.
