UFC London Featherweight Fight: Michael Aswell vs Luke Riley
Start Time: 1:00pm EST (Paramount+)
The co-main event features a pair of fighters that love to stand and trade. However, thanks to the statistics that the books have, the significant strike marks all much lower than they ought to be.
In his UFC debut, Luke Riley scored a second round KO. Despite having over a round to work, he only scored 14 significant strikes. That is mostly because Bogdan Grad spent the bulk of the fight trying to turn it into a grappling match before being knocked out. If you look at any of Riley’s fights for Cage Warriors, he lands at a much higher clip.
He’ll have a willing dance partner in Michael Aswell. He both landed and absorbed over 100 strikes in his Contender Series fight with the aforementioned Grad. He did the same again in his debut against Bolaji Oki. On average, he lands over nine strikes per minute and eats over seven. Having never been knocked out in his career, this may be a candidate for a long fight. If so, those numbers are going to be sky high.
