A 62-year-old man is dead and three others are injured after a pickup truck crashed into a building and multiple vehicles in Quebec City’s Limoilou neighborhood Saturday afternoon.
Quebec City police were called to the scene on 18th Street, between de Vitré and Maufils avenues, just after 2 p.m.
According to the Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ), the pickup truck, which the 62-year-old was driving, crashed into a building before rolling over into the street. The driver was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The building was evacuated.
A car turning onto 18th Street at the time of the incident was struck by the pickup, the SPVQ said. A woman and two children who were in the vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A Quebec City police spokesperson told Radio-Canada the pickup truck also hit two parked cars.
Police set up a perimeter at the scene Saturday, so that investigators and technicians could continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
