After a breakout 2025 season with the Toronto Blue Jays, Barger is having a monster spring, and it looks like he’s ready to let his star shine even brighter in 2026.
With Opening Day this week, Toronto fans are getting pumped about Barger’s continued development.
The first image below is very telling, and we’ll break it down after you have a look:

That graphic puts Barger in the 93rd-percentile and above in a bunch of key stats, as well as the 83rd-percentile in not swinging at pitches outside the zone.

One account on X pointed out just how brilliant this has been:
“So Addison Barger is destroying balls, being aggressive in the zone and laying off pitches out of the zone, not swinging and missing, hitting balls at ideal launch angles, and pulling the ball in the air. He has literally been the perfect hitter in the spring.”
That’s right on the mark. Barger is doing everything you want.
If you crush the ball in the air to your pull side while only swinging at pitches that are crushable, you’re going to have massive success.

Right now, Barger seems ready to have an incredible season for Toronto. The Blue Jays certainly wouldn’t complain about that.
