The Pittsburgh Steelers are entering a new era after replacing Mike Tomlin with Mike McCarthy, following 19 seasons at the helm.

The connection between McCarthy and quarterback Aaron Rodgers is evident, but Rodgers has not yet decided whether he will continue his playing career or retire. Despite this uncertainty, Rodgers had a successful first season with the team, passing for 3,322 yards, completing 24 touchdown passes, and throwing seven interceptions, which resulted in a completion rate of 65.7%. He also led the team to the postseason; however, they were eliminated in the wild-card round, losing to the Houston Texans 30-6.

Regardless of whether Rodgers stays or leaves, the team must begin preparing for the future. That’s why NFL.com’s Chad Reuter predicts the Steelers will select Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
