LETTER: Let’s keep planting trees – and save the ones we have in Surrey

Editor,
Regarding the Environment and Climate Change Committee presentation: Kudos for the tree planting events, though in South Surrey I only see the tree “murders” as in the 20th Avenue overpass construction and any construction project—a total flat earth policy.
Regarding salmon habitat, how could Surrey allow the truck parking lot next to A Rocha? The trucks will be dripping oil into the ground and it will leach into the Little Campbell. Shame on Surrey.
To the mayor: I have been making blackberry jam for most of my life. Hooray for the blackberry bushes!
Let’s plant more trees and stop killing the second growth that we already have.
