Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid said he was fine after leaving Monday’s practice early with trainers.
The Oilers, who are still looking to secure a playoff spot in the Western Conference, begin a two-game road trip on Tuesday against the Utah Mammoth before playing the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday in Nevada.
Edmonton has dropped back-to-back games and currently sit third in the Pacific Division with a 34-28-9 record through 71 games, four points ahead of the Los Angeles Kings.
The 29-year-old McDavid is in the midst of another Hart Trophy-calibre season, recording 38 goals and 78 assists over 71 games. McDavid has now produced 100 or more points in six straight seasons.
Fellow superstar Leon Draisaitl is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season with a lower-body injury suffered against the Nashville Predators on March 15.
The 30-year-old German has 35 goals and 62 assists over 65 games in 2025-26.
