One person is in hospital following a pair of overnight fires in the city’s North End.
The first fire broke out just after 9:30 p.m. Monday in a one-and-a-half-storey house in the 300 block of Magnus Avenue.
Smoke was coming from the home when crews arrived. Firefighters fought the blaze from inside the home, declaring it under control just after 10 p.m.
No one was home when the fire broke out, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Second Fire on Ross Avenue
Later in the evening, just after 1 a.m. on Tuesday, a fire broke out in a shed behind a home in the 700 block of Ross Avenue.
Smoke and flames were pouring out of the shed, and firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire.
One person was assessed at the scene and taken to hospital in unstable condition.
Investigation Ongoing
It’s believed the fire was accidental.
Fire officials continue to investigate.
