One person is in hospital following a pair of overnight fires in Winnipeg.
Winnipeg Fire Paramedics Services responded to two separate fires Monday night, with the first being along Magnus Avenue and the second along Ross Avenue.
Magnus Avenue fire
WFPS says they responded to a report of a fire at a one-and-a-half storey house along Magnus Avenue near 9:37 p.m. on Mar. 23.
When fire crews arrived, they could see smoke coming from the home and began to battle the blaze from inside the home. The fire was declared under control at 10:15 p.m.
A search of the house found no one inside, and no injuries were reported.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
Ross Avenue fire
WPFS also responded to a shed fire behind a home along Ross Avenue around 1:19 a.m. on Mar. 24.
When crews arrived, they could see smoke and fire coming from the shed and were able to quickly bring the blaze under control.
One person was assessed at the scene and was taken taken to hospital in unstable condition by paramedics.
It is believed the fire was accidental, but an investigation is underway.
