Detroit Red Wings
Dylan Larkin (lower body) returned against the Senators on Tuesday. The forward and Red Wings captain had missed their past seven games. Larkin is third on Detroit with 55 points (28 goals, 27 assists) in 63 games. “He’s looked good in practice,” Red Wings coach Todd McLellan said after the morning skate. “That being said, practice and game are way different at this time of the year. The physicality in practice isn’t as high as it is, or was, in November. You’re trying to conserve energy, but he’s found ways to be physically be involved in practice and get himself ready, so we’ll know more at game time.” Detroit had gone 3-3-1 without Larkin. “Any time you’re out, it’s hard to watch, more stressful to watch,” Larkin said. “But I’m proud of the way the guys played. They battled, and they’re in the fight, and I think (it’s) inspiring to come back and join them and join them in how they’ve been battling.”
