There’s a new place to read, study, and try new activities in Brampton now that the new Claireville library branch is officially open.

Time is running out of local authors to have their works showcased by the Brampton Library alongside dozens of other writers.

The Local Authors Showcase has helped highlight the published and self-published books and eBooks of local writers since 2017, with works available online, in the catalogue and in eBook platform

The showcase is back for another year and already has nearly 80 books from 60 authors, but submissions are still open until Monday.

Local authors can submit up to three titles published over the last five years by March 31. Entries received after that date will be considered for the 2027–28 Showcase.

Titles selected for the Local Authors Showcase will be on display for 12 months during the showcase session, and details about the authors and their books will be featured on Brampton Library’s website for 12 months.

Author, co-authors or illustrator must currently live in Brampton, Caledon, or Mississauga and have a valid Brampton Library card. Adult, teen, and children’s titles of all genres and languages are eligible for submission. All submissions must have been published between Jan. 1, 2021, and March 31,
2026.
