A unique Mississauga round home is up for sale.
The Lorne Park home at 1352 Nocturne Court was listed this week for $3,550,000 by Royal LePage Real Estate Services Phinney Real Estate.
The rare home is the earliest known surviving round house in Mississauga, a heritage designation report notes. The property received a heritage designation in 2024.
Toronto modernist architect Harry Bernard Kohl designed the home and the prefabricated structure was on display at the March 1962 National Home Show in the Coliseum building in Toronto’s Exhibition Place.
It was conceived as a dream house. The accompanying brochure stressed the “sheer delight and freedom” that it offered the “space-age family.”
The house is topped by a “triodetic dome”, the connectors for which were invented in 1955 by Canadian Arthur E. Fentiman (1918-1993), patented in 1958. The triodetic dome is a type of geodesic dome — the Ontario Place Cinesphere is an example of this structure.

The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home offers a “rare opportunity to own a private, architecturally distinct home in one of Mississauga’s most exclusive enclaves of Lorne Park,” the listing from Royal LePage Real Estate Services Phinney Real Estate notes.
The home has an open-concept, light-filled layout, real estate platform Zoocasa noted in an email to INsauga.com.
The modern kitchen is equipped with Gaggenau appliances, including a range, refrigerator, and oven, and anchored by a custom six-person island with waterfall quartz countertops and a built-in electric fireplace, the listing notes.
The backyard features include a saltwater swimming pool, hot tub, and composite deck surrounded by mature trees and architectural lighting, the listing notes.
There is also a custom treehouse and an outdoor dome gym. The gym features cork flooring and expansive glass.
