The Detroit Red Wings have signed defenceman Jacob Bernard-Docker to a two-year, $3.2 million contract extension, it was announced Wednesday evening.
The deal carries an average annual value of $1.6 million.
The 25-year-old blueliner has zero goals and four assists in 55 games so far this season, his first in the Motor City after splitting last season between the Ottawa Senators and the Buffalo Sabres.
A native of Banff, AB. Bernard-Docker was selected No. 26 overall by the Sens in the 2018 NHL Draft. He played parts of five seasons in Ottawa before being dealt to Buffalo in a multi-player deal also involving Josh Norris and Dylan Cozens.
Bernard-Docker is a veteran of 199 NHL regular season games and has tallied six goals and 28 points over six NHL seasons.
