Unfortunately …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead are no longer able to perform at this year upcoming Prepare The Ground Festival. Originally scheduled to perform Source Tags & Codes + Secret of Elena’s Tomb on Friday, May 29th.

Stepping into their slow will be North American black metal unit, Yellow Eyes.

Prepare the Ground spans May 29th–31st, 2026 and multiple downtown Toronto locations, including Trinity-St. Paul’s Church, Lee’s Palace, The Cave, and Transac, alongside an outdoor arts market and a dedicated theater space for film scores and related programming.

Tickets are available here.

Festival organizers shared the following:

We are truly sad to say that …And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead will no longer be able to play Prepare the Ground.

In their stead on Friday, May 29 we are honoured to welcome back one of the most important bands in North American Black Metal, Yellow Eyes. Their 2025 masterpiece Confusion Gate is wholly unique and truly special. We know they will bring a sonic and emotional heightening you’ve come to expect, and maybe even experienced at the first Prepare the Ground.

“After performing at the inaugural Prepare The Ground in 2024, we’re looking forward to returning this May and being part of the festival’s continued evolution. This will be our only performance in Canada this year.” – Will, Yellow Eyes

With so many moving parts and artists there are bound to be changes here and there, and we are thrilled to have such a great band step in on short notice.

Can’t wait to see you all in two short months, ticket supply is getting low. Join us!
