The Miami Marlins are acquiring infielder Leo Jimenez in a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for infield prospect Dub Gleed and $250,000 in international bonus pool money, according to reporter Francys Romero.
Jimenez was out of minor-league options and did not make the 26-player Opening Day roster, with outfielder Davis Schneider getting the final spot. The Jays officially designated Jimenez for assignment on Wednesday.

The Marlins do not have room on their 40-player roster, meaning they will need to make a move before the deal can be officially announced.
The 24-year-old Jimenez has appeared in a total of 81 games with the Jays over two seasons. He hit .231 in 14 spring training games this year with Toronto and hit .296 in 26 minor-league games spread across three levels last year.
The Blue Jays are out to a 3-0 start on the season after a sweep of the Athletics at Rogers Centre this weekend.
