There is currently a lot of uncertainty surrounding Sophie Cunningham’s future with the Indiana Fever. The 6-foot-1 guard’s contract with the Fever has ended, and she is now an unrestricted free agent ahead of her eighth season in the WNBA.
Cunningham joined Indiana in the offseason via a multi-team trade deal from the Phoenix Mercury. She made an immediate impact for the Fever in Year 1, averaging 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.7 triples in 25.2 minutes per contest.
Unfortunately, Cunningham’s debut campaign in Indiana was cut short by a season-ending knee injury. She played 30 games before tearing the MCL in her right knee.
