Colorado Avalanche star defenceman Cale Makar left Monday’s game against the Calgary Flames with an upper-body injury and did not return.
Makar was not on Colorado’s bench to start the third period with the Avs up 6-1 and was officially ruled out later in the frame. He had three assists in 17:15 of ice time before departing.
According to Corey Masisak of the Denver Post, Makar took a hit from Flames forward Adam Klapka late in the second. He was checked out by the training staff after that shift and took two more shifts in the second before leaving for good.
