Cale Makar missed the third period of Monday’s Avalanche game with an upper-body injury. His last shift ended at 19:25 of the second period, when he set up Nathan MacKinnon for a power-play goal.

The superstar defenseman recorded three assists and played 17:15 in the first two periods. The Avs carried a 6-1 lead into the third following his third helper. They went on to win 9-2.

“Went out to get evaluated. We’ll know more tomorrow,” head coach Jared Bednar said.
