CP24 meteorologist Bill Coulter provides an update on weather conditions in Toronto and parts of the GTA.

Heavy rains caused flooding on some roads and at a subway station in Toronto on Tuesday night.

The city and some parts of the Greater Toronto were briefly under a severe thunderstorm watch, with Environment Canada advising of torrential downpour and strong winds.

Trains were not stopping at Museum Station due to flooding, the TTC said.

Meanwhile, pooling in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 near Kipling Avenue caused two vehicles to collide. There is no immediate word on injuries.

Flooding was also reported on Bain Avenue, Dawes Road and Ossington Avenue, north of Dundas Street West.

The severe thunderstorm watch ended shortly after 8 p.m.

The wet weather is expected to transition to sunshine on Wednesday, which will see a high of 9 C, according to the national weather agency.

But rain will dominate the forecast for the rest of the week.

Showers are expected on Thursday, which will see a high of just 2 C, about six degrees cooler than normal for this time of year.

The long weekend will see more rain and daytime highs of 10 C on Friday, 9 C on Saturday, and 10 C on Sunday.
