Shots fired at business complex on Surrey/Langley border

Mounties are investigating overnights gunshots fired at a business complex in Cloverdale for the second time in late March.
Members of the RCMP’s provincial unit visited a business in the 5400-block of Production Boulevard March 30.
According to a press release form the Surrey Police Service, Mounties were called at about 9 a.m. March 30.
“Police received a report of multiple shots fired at a business that had occurred sometime overnight,” Sgt. Lindsey Houghton said. “The business owner and police noted damage to the exterior of the business. The business was not occupied at the time and there were no reported injuries.”
Police said this is the second time a gunshots hit a business in the same commercial complex. Gunshots were reported on March 23.
The Mounties’ General Investigation Unit is now looking into it. Mounties noted shots were fired at about 12:49 a.m. March 30.
“Based on information gathered thus far, investigators believe the incident is extortion related,” he said.
