‘Vere Oru Case’ director makes clarification after Alencier’s photos spark concerns

Recent photos of actor Alencier have been circulating widely on social media, sparking widespread speculation. In these images, Alencier, dressed in a police uniform, appears noticeably thinner, leading many to speculate that he might be suffering from a serious illness. However, these photos were actually taken on the set of ‘Vere Oru Case,’ directed by Shebi Chowghat. In an exclusive conversation with Manorama Online, Shebi addressed the rumors, reassuring the public that Alencier is in good health and urged people to avoid spreading baseless assumptions about someone’s well-being.
Shebi shared, “There’s been a lot of talk about Alencier’s dramatic transformation. Just a few months ago, when I offered him a role in my new film, he was noticeably heavier. I jokingly told him he should shed a few pounds for the role. He just smiled and didn’t say much. I even shared a few weight loss tips with him. When I saw him again on the set of Vere Oru Case, the costume designer mentioned that Alencier had lost weight, but I was still shocked by his new appearance. I asked him if he was dealing with any health issues, like diabetes. He smiled and told me he was just dieting for the role.”
The director also emphasized that Alencier remained energetic throughout the filming, even during late-night shoots. “He seemed perfectly healthy when I saw him a few days ago for dubbing. I pray he stays in this great shape. I kindly request people not to invent stories and attribute them to him,” Shebi added. ‘Vere Oru Case’ filmed in and around Thiruvananthapuram, is currently in post-production. This police drama marks Shebi Chowghat’s second directorial venture, following his debut ‘Kakkipada’. The film is produced by Fuwad Panangayi.
