One of Canada’s 25 Most Wanted is in custody after B.C.’s Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) announced that investigators arrested a man in Surrey last week.

Officers with the Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (UGET) identified and located Chad Dandan during “proactive patrols” on March 26.

According to police, the suspect has been evading the authorities by concealing his identity.

“The suspect took deliberate steps to avoid being recognized, but our officers’ training and vigilance led to his arrest,” said Sgt. Sarbjit K. Sangha.

Dandan, accused of being connected to a homicide in Winnipeg, Manitoba, was ranked number seven on the country-wide BOLO (Be On the Look Out) Program, featuring Canada’s most wanted fugitives.

He was wanted Canada-wide on charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping, and extortion.

Local police have been in contact with their colleagues at the Winnipeg Police Service to “coordinate the accused’s custody.”

“The accused remains in custody pending further proceedings in Winnipeg,” police said in a written statement.

Anyone with information about individuals featured on the BOLO program is encouraged to contact local police.
