The Young and the Restless’ Malcolm Winters returns the week of April 6 with a big secret stuffed in his carryon luggage. What is it exactly? The answer to that question lies buried in the character’s storied past. So let’s get digging, shall we?
The Unwelcome Wagon
When future Emmy winner Shemar Moore made his debut as Malcolm in 1994, half brother Neil Winters wanted nothing to do with the budding photographer. Needless to say, a close relationship between the two of them ultimately “developed.”

Sibling Rivals
Even after Neil married Drucilla Barber, Malcolm couldn’t get over his crush on the spitfire. One evening, when she’d taken so much cold medicine that she mistook him for her husband — dang it, NyQuil! — the twosome had sex.

A Perfect Match?
Eager to put the incident in rearview as quickly as possible, Dru convinced herself that baby Lily was Neil’s and had older sister Olivia Barber set up Malcolm with fellow doctor Stephanie Simmons (who also returns to Genoa City this week).

Thank You, Next
Alas, Malcom and Stephanie’s relationship was short-lived. He soon moved on to Keesha Monroe, who’d had an affair with Olivia’s husband, Nathan Hastings. Malcolm had just forgiven and married Keesha when she succumbed to the ravages of AIDS.

Daddy Issues
Following Nathan’s passing, Malcolm took to being a father figure for the deceased and Olivia’s son, Nate. Malcolm also took to Olivia: The twosome tied the knot… but not tightly enough. Jealousy of Malcolm’s ex Callie Rogers drove Liv to cut the ties that bound.

Going Down?
Malcolm was vying with Neil for the affections of Alex Perez when he took the ultimate wrong turn: over a bridge in Kenya that collapsed. For three long years, he was presumed to have died. Spoiler alert: He hadn’t and returned to town ticked that Neil hadn’t looked for him harder!

‘You *Are* the Father!’
During that comeback, Malcolm forced Dru to find out once and for all whether he’s Lily’s father. As we all know now, he is. Though Malcolm and Dru decided not to upset the apple cart by revealing what they had discovered, Neil and Lily still learn the truth.

New Face, Who Dis?
Years later, Malcolm returned again with a new face — that of Darius McCrary. His life, however, remained the same old mess. His latest lady love Sofia Dupre cheated on him with — who else? — Neil and gave birth to his nephew, Moses. #awkward

The Worst of Times
When Neil was struck blind during his ill-advised marriage to Hilary Curtis, Malcolm — once again played by Moore — passed through town to offer his support. And, of course, he paid his respects upon his brother’s heartbreaking demise.
Psst!
This time around, Malcolm is headed home to reconnect with Stephanie over a secret that they share. Is anybody not thinking that they are going to turn out to be the parents of Holden Novak? We’re all on the same page then? Let the games begin.
