1. New indoor baseball, softball training facility coming to White Rock

The White Rock South Surrey Baseball Association, in partnership with White Rock Renegades Girls Fastpitch, announced an April 12 grand opening for the new facility.

2. White Rock caps tax increase at 5.04 per cent

It was a discussion that included detours into two budget-related issues: plans for a reconfigured Sea Festival, which will not include Semiahmoo Days this year, due to Semiahmoo First Nation withdrawing the event; and new plans for traffic control for city-sponsored fireworks events.

3. New B.C. legislation aims to reduce 2035 EV mandates to 75%

This legislation would remove the planned ban on internal-combustion vehicle sales after Jan. 1, 2035, while amending the government’s ability to shift benchmark targets in the years between now and then.

4. SENIORS’ SCENE: White Rock’s spring garage sale coming soon

Come spend a fun day at Kent Street Activity Centre on Saturday, April 18, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., shopping for unique treasures and supporting the fundraiser.

5. Museum of Surrey to host annual Indigenous arts, crafts, culture festival in May

Organizers will welcome Indigenous artists and performers from across B.C. on Saturday, May 2.
