Matty Juniosa is not the only Filipino-blooded singer making waves on “Britain’s Got Talent.”
On the reality competition’s latest episode, Filipina singer Kristel Herrera, who lives in Halifax, West Yorkshire, delivered a goosebumps-inducing performance of “Run to You” by Whitney Houston.
At the end of her powerful audition, she received four yeses from judges KSI, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Stacey Solomon, who was standing in for head judge Simon Cowell, along with a standing ovation from the audience.
“That was sensational. Absolutely outstanding. Like, your technique was 10 out of 10,” Alesha.
Meanwhile, Amanda said she was “blown away” by Kristel’s performance.
“What I find extraordinary is how sort of little and shrunk you are,” she said. “And when you sang, you turned into a complete diva, baby.”
Kristel is advancing to the next round, where she will compete for a spot in the live semifinals.
Meanwhile, Matty got a Golden Buzzer from his audition, which meant he automatically advanced to the live semifinals.
The live semifinals of “Britain’s Got Talent” will begin on April 26 at 7 p.m. (April 27, 2 a.m. in Philippine time). —Hermes Joy Tunac/MGP, GMA News
