Toronto police say a motorcyclist is dead after he struck a vehicle in the city’s east end Sunday afternoon.
In a post to social media, the Toronto Police Service said it responded to the area of Danforth Avenue and Byng Avenue shortly after 3 p.m.
The 21-year-old man was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died, Toronto police said.

The Toronto Transit Commission’s 113 Danforth and 20 Cliffside buses were detouring via Pharmacy Avenue, Denton Avenue and Leyton Avenue due to a collision, but regular service has since resumed, the transit agency said in posts to social media.
Insp. Errol Watson with Toronto police told reporters Sunday evening a vehicle was travelling east on Danforth Avenue and attempted a left turn into a plaza, when the motorcycle, which was travelling west, struck it. He added the vehicle driver remained on-scene and is cooperating with investigators.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen this collision or has video to please speak with investigators,” Watson said.
He said it is too early to speculate if speed or weather played a role in the incident.
