One person was taken to hospital and lanes remain partially closed after a dump truck and two passenger vehicles were involved in a crash on Highway 401 in Mississauga on Monday afternoon.
Ontario Provincial Police said the person who was injured was taken to hospital as a precaution in the wake of the three-vehicle collision on the busy highway at Hurontario Street. Police didn’t release any additional details about the injured person.
The collision, which took place shortly before 2:30 p.m., initially blocked the eastbound collector lanes at Hurontario Street. However, those lanes of traffic were partially reopened just before 3 p.m., police said.
OPP said “heavy traffic” remains in the area and motorists are advised to plan alternate routes if possible.
Emergency crews remain on scene for the ongoing investigation and cleanup efforts, police added.
