Three Whalley Chiefs teams are back in action to start BC Premier Baseball League play for the 2026 spring-summer season.

The Junior squad got things going with a home game Tuesday, March 31 at Whalley Athletic Park against the visiting Abbotsford Jr. Cardinals, 9-7 winners that night.

On Sunday (April 5) the Junior Chiefs enjoyed two big wins over Delta Blue Jays in a sunny double-header at Dugald Morrison Park in Ladner, by scores of 12-4 and 4-2.

In the Premier league, Whalley Chiefs split a pair of games with North Shore Twins on Sunday to get their season started at Whalley Athletic, where the squad faces Delta on Wednesday (April 8) before travelling to Abbotsford for two games Saturday.

Whalley’s Bantam team plays in White Rock on Wednesday (April 8) before two afternoon home games Saturday against North Shore Twins, noon and 2:30 p.m. start times.

The 13 BCPBL franchises field teams in Premier (or Senior), Junior and Bantam divisions for games across Metro Vancouver, Vancouver Island and Okanagan. For the Chiefs, rival organizations nearby include White Rock Tritons, Delta Blue Jays and Langley Blaze.

In January the Chiefs announced their three team rosters for the 2026 spring-summer season under Steve Grewal, general manager of baseball operations for longtime franchise owner/operator Paul Hargreaves.

Last year, Chiefs teams finished fourth in the Premier league, sixth in Junior and ninth in Bantam.
