A gas line is leaking after it was struck in Mississauga, and police are warning locals to avoid the area at this time.
It happened in the area of Confederation Parkway and Queensway West shortly before 12:30 p.m.
Peel Regional Police did not detail the circumstances surrounding the incident, but said fire services and Enbridge Gas are on scene investigating.
Police confirmed to CTV News Toronto they had to evacuate some buildings in the area due to “safety reasons.”
They did not say how many buildings were evacuated or how many people have been impacted by the evacuations.
Shortly after 6:30 p.m., the Queensway reopened to traffic. However, Confederation Parkway remains closed between Queensway and Paisely Boulevard West as work continues.
