Sorry, but I have to rant about this city. We used to have a world-class transit system. Now we don’t. We used to have restaurants and businesses that thrived for generations. Now we don’t. We used to have roads that were purpose-built for the size of the city and fairly well maintained. Now we don’t. The ByWard Market used to be a safe destination. Now it isn’t. Most of the city used to be safe after dark. Now it isn’t.

What happened over the past 50 years? There has been a constant influx of municipal councillors who have strayed away from common-sense priorities. The priorities were pet projects that were expensive and have been dragging down the city. They lost their focus on what should be priorities to maintaining the basics for a city to run smoothly.

So here we are, a city in debt with a broken down transit system, roads that are constantly congested and falling apart while money is being spent on construction of a new bicycle priority lane to nowhere, along with many other infrastructure issues, and a council that doesn’t have a clue how to look after us.

BUNCH OF HYPOCRITES

So Michael Rousseau is absolutely shamed and humiliated by the Liberals and Bloc to the point of demanding he step down as Air Canada’s top executive. Rousseau apologized, but that was not good enough for these entitled better than everybody else hypocrites.

On the other hand, you have Michael Ma making an absolute fool of himself at committee trying to cast doubt on the validity of forced labour in China. This after he accompanied Mark Carney to China recently. He apologized and that was good enough. He’s still Carney’s pet.

I have to agree with Premier Doug Ford about the speed cameras being “cash grabs by the municipalities.”

Perhaps I might change my mind if these cameras were only activated during school hours and also not during the summer.
