It’s safe to say that young Ivan Demidov’s interviews have been quite colorful over the past few hours.

There are moments of spontaneity that are pure gold in an NHL locker room, and journalists covering the Montreal Canadiens got a perfect example of it after the victory against the Florida Panthers.

While speaking with the media to reflect on his past year, young star forward Ivan Demidov saw his press conference take an unexpected and hilarious turn.

Demidov initially took time to highlight his first anniversary since joining the Canadiens organization last season.

“It’s gone by so fast. I love Montreal. Hockey is everything here. I just like being here.” he candidly shared, as reported by journalist Marco D’Amico on X.

But what happened in the middle of that heartfelt declaration of love for the city is what truly stole the show.

Juraj Slafkovsky teases Ivan Demidov after intermission interview slip

To fully understand the joke, you have to go back to an earlier moment.

The popular BarDown account pointed out that Demidov had accidentally dropped a well-known “f-bomb ” during a televised interview aired during the intermission.

Obviously, in a hockey locker room, that kind of slip-up never goes unnoticed for long.

His teammates certainly weren’t going to miss such a golden opportunity to tease him.

Marco D’Amico shared the anecdote:

“While we’re interviewing Ivan in the Canadiens dressing room, Juraj Slafkovsky walks in.

He looks over at Ivan and yells ‘Hey Ivan, oh f***!’, directly referencing the rookie’s small blunder.”

This kind of funny moment perfectly shows the strong chemistry and camaraderie currently building within the team’s young core.

The guys work hard, but they clearly know how to have fun together off the ice!
