Two women suffered life-threatening injuries in a stabbing in Brampton late Thursday night.
Emergency crews responded to the stabbing at Cherrytree Drive and Ray Lawson Boulevard, in the Hurontario Street and Highway 407 area, just before 11 p.m., Peel Regional Police said.
Both women were transported to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries, police said.
One woman is in her 70s and the second is in her 50s, a police spokesperson told INsauga.com. As of Friday morning, both women are still in life-threatening condition, police said.
Police said one male suspect has been arrested and there are no outstanding suspects.
This is an isolated incident and there is no risk to public safety, police added.
There was no further information on the male suspect or the relationship between the male and the victims.
