Nabbing a novice driver travelling more than 50 km/h over the speed limit has led to charges for a Brampton man, police say.
The traffic stop happened on Wednesday while an officer with the Middlesex County OPP was on patrol and spotted a speeding driver, police say.
The driver was clocked going more than 50 km/h over the 80 km/h limit, police say.
Police say the 21-year-old novice male driver was arrested, and the charges suggest the man refused to provide a breath sample and had an open liquor container.
The male driver from Brampton has been charged with multiple offences, including failure or refusal to comply with demand, dangerous operation, and driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor.
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to make a court appearance on May 14.
